Language Policy
The language course
The challenges of multilingual education and cultural plurality are central to our teaching.
A language policy that starts in kindergarten:
Exposure to languages is a key feature of our language policy. French, the primary language of instruction in our institution, is also the language in which the values and culture of our programs abroad are expressed. Then comes the language of the host country, and finally, another “foreign” language.
The foundations of this language learning program, starting in kindergarten, are structured around three main areas:
-mastery of the French language, the language of communication and sharing within the establishment, the language of teaching;
-a necessary recognition of the host country’s language
-introduction to a third language
Languages in primary school: a unique CLIL pathway
From CP to CM2, English is integrated into the teaching of subjects [ EMILE ] to reinforce exposure to the language and within the framework of a PARLE route (3 hours per week per student, including 1.5 hours of main modern language and 1.5 hours of EMILE in cycle 2, 4 hours in cycle 3 including 2.5 hours of EMILE) .
The PARLE (adapted and reinforced foreign language courses) designed by the AEFE aim to qualitatively reinforce the language training of students, to strengthen the mastery of a living foreign language other than the language of the host country.
Extracurricular enrichment:
Additional activities are offered to reinforce linguistic and cultural knowledge. These activities are conducted in French and/or English and take place after school (Extracurricular Activities).
