College
The middle school marks the students’ entry into secondary education. It is organized into four levels from sixth to third grade and structured into educational cycles.
All students at the college have 26 hours of compulsory instruction per week.
At EIFS, we opened our 6th grade class in September 2024.
The opening of the 5th grade class will take place in September 2025.
We are planning for the college to be fully open.
In terms of learning cycles, middle school covers the end of the consolidation cycle (cycle 3).
The cycle 3 program is therefore the subject of consultation between the primary school and the secondary school.
Cycle 4 is the cycle of advanced learning: it includes the 5th, 4th and 3rd grades.
The teaching programs
The subject-specific programs outline and detail the skills and knowledge of the common core curriculum. They are defined by 3-year cycles and organized in a coherent and progressive manner.
The end-of-year expectations and annual progress benchmarks should enable teaching teams to deliver rigorous, explicit, and progressive instruction throughout compulsory schooling. They provide teachers with support to better organize their year.
